Ugandan agritech startup Emata is among 14 startups from across the globe that have been picked for Catapult: Inclusion Africa 2021 Fintech Bootcamp.
What does it do? The provides farmers with affordable loans by utilizing end-to-end digital processes, data-backed risk analytics, and a mobile-based distribution model, as per information on its website. You can read more about it here.
Why does this matter? Apart from standing a chance to win funding, Emata will be trained for investment readiness, undergo one-on-one mentorship, and stands a chance to participate in the World Expo in Dubai.
More important information: The Catapult: Inclusion Africa 2021 Fintech Bootcamp will run from May 19-28 and the other startups that have been selected are from Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Nigeria (3), Tanzania, Israel, Kenya (3), France and Ghana (2).
