African startups invited to apply for Global FoodTech Accelerator

Applications are almost closing for the Global FoodTech Accelerator, a Milan-based organization that invests up to 20,000 euros in every startup that is accepted into the program.

The deadline for applying Sept. 30, 2019.

The Accelerator is looking for startups working on projects in these areas: Food Safety, Plant & Food Quality, Food waste, Sustainable Packaging, Precision Nutrition & Coaching, Meal Replacement & Supplements.

Other areas are Plant-based proteins, Invitro Cell Culture, Novel & Superfood, Precision farming, Animal health, Vertical and indoor farming, Clean Commodities, Direct to consumer & Meal Kit, Digital Restaurants, New delivery vehicles, Customer engagement & Smart packaging, Digital Experience & Native Brands.

This is the second edition of the Global FoodTech Accelerator and 10 startups will benefit from this edition.

Aside from getting cash, startups are matched with corporate partners, they participate in a 15-week program that involves hands-on learning experience and out-of-the-building approach, you attend a range of events for networking and a DemoDay to pitch investors.

You’ll also gain access to up to 1 million euros in follow-on funding.
